My top cortisol supplements
I asked you last week on IG what supplements you have been looking for recently…
And 70%+ of you said you were looking for supplements for stress relief and to support cortisol balance!
So this week’s newsletter is going to help you with just that.
But that’s not all…
I’ll also share some of my favorite brands and the products I’m testing out—so you don’t have to waste the time and money!
Vitamins and minerals.
Essential nutrients play a critical role in supporting cortisol balance and adrenal health.
Specific nutrients that support cortisol levels and a healthy stress response include:
- Vitamin C – protects adrenals from stress
- B Vitamins (B5, B6, B12) – essential for energy + adrenal support
- Magnesium – calms the nervous system and supports sleep
- Zinc – supports immune and adrenal health
- Selenium – antioxidant that reduces oxidative stress
Adapotgens
Another category of supplements that support cortisol are adaptogens.
Adaptogens are powerful herbs (and some mushrooms) that help your body adapt to stress.
All have different properties and use cases.
Some adaptogens are calming and better to take at night, and others support stable energy levels.
Here is a quick adaptogen cheat sheet:
Note: These are not all the adaptogens available—just the ones I like best for stress and cortisol balance.
- Ashwagandha – lowers cortisol + promotes calm
- Rhodiola – stress resilience + healthy mood
- Siberian Ginseng – supports stamina + mental clarity
- Astragalus – strengthens immune system + vitality
- Magnesium – foundational for stress recovery
- Phosphatidylserine – supports deep sleep
- L-Theanine – promotes calm + reduces stimulation
- GABA – quick-acting nervous system support
- Myo-Inositol – supports sleep + mood + blood sugar balance
A lot of people will mix and match or take them individually.
I prefer a pre-mixed blend with therapeutic dosages—because when they are taking together they can create a synergistic effect. Meaning 1+1 = 5, not 2.
My top picks: Rootine STRESS and Rootine SLEEP
Other Supplements
These support a holistic approach to cortisol balance and general wellbeing:
- Protein – stabilizes blood sugar + hormones
- Creatine – brain + lean muscle building + energy support (yes, even for women!)
- Electrolytes – hydration = hormone regulation

How do you choose quality supplements?
The key to finding high-quality supplements is to look for brands that prioritize purity, potency, and third-party testing.
Supplements with clinically studied ingredients and formulations are also key.
And remember: just because you see it everywhere online, doesn't mean its high quality!
Your Challenge This Week
Take stock of your current supplements.
Are they actually supporting your stress response—or are they just filling your cabinet?
Pick one new intentional supplement to support your nervous system this week—and track how you feel over the next few weeks.

🤍 Social Edit
What I've been sharing & talking about on social this week:
🌱 Wellness News & Hot Takes
Redpoint Ventures recently announced its leading a new funding round for Function Health — the personalized lab testing startup now valued at $2.5B, up from $191M less than a year ago.
Co-founded by Dr. Mark Hyman, Function taps into the booming longevity tech trend with $499/year memberships offering deep biomarker testing to detect early signs of disease.
But here's the problem…
Access is still limited (long waitlist), its operationally flawed (really hard to schedule testing for women outside of tier 1 cities), and $499/year out-of-pocket isn’t realistic for most. Retention will be tough unless they lower price points, diversify offerings, or unlock insurance coverage.
Preventative health has massive potential — but it can’t just be for the wealthy few.

Westin Hotels just teamed up with goop to launch Sleep Training for Grown-Ups — a video series blending sleep science, daily habit hacks, and Gwyneth Paltrow’s signature wellness aesthetic.
Legacy hospitality brands are waking up to the wellness boom.
As social wellness clubs and biohacking retreats go mainstream, expect more traditional hotel chains to rebrand around rest, recovery, and rituals — not just room service and robes.
This is just the beginning. Wellness isn’t a perk anymore — it’s the product.
